Ingredients

- 1 lb (450 g) beef flank steak, thinly sliced
- 3 cups (240 g) broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) fresh ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil
- ¼ cup (60 ml) beef broth
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) brown sugar
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, marinate the beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil for about 10 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat, and stir-fry the beef until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant.
- Add broccoli florets and beef broth, cover, and steam for 3-4 minutes until broccoli is tender.
- Return the beef to the pan, add brown sugar, and stir until everything is well combined and heated through.
- Serve over cooked rice or noodles.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chili flakes or green onions.
- This dish can be made with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
