- 8 oz (225 g) pasta (penne or rotini)
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 cups (200 g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and garlic until cooked through.
- Drain excess fat, then stir in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce, then add milk and half of the cheese. Mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with remaining cheese.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with lentils or mushrooms.
- Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach to the dish.
