Ingredients

- 1 ½ cups (190 g) warm water
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tbsp (12 g) sugar
- 4 cups (480 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5 g) salt
- ⅔ cup (160 g) baking soda
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour and salt, and mix until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Divide the dough into small pieces and roll into bite-sized balls.
- In a large pot, bring 10 cups (2.4 L) of water and baking soda to a boil.
- Boil each pretzel bite for about 30 seconds, then remove and place on a baking sheet.
- Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Serve with mustard or cheese dip for extra flavor.
- Store leftovers in airtight container for up to 2 days.
