Ingredients

- 2 lbs (900 g) pork shoulder
- 1 cup (240 ml) barbecue sauce
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Place the chopped onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Rub the pork shoulder with smoked paprika, cumin, black pepper, brown sugar, and salt.
- Put the seasoned pork shoulder on top of the onions and garlic.
- In a bowl, mix the barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar, then pour it over the pork.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until the pork is tender.
- Shred the pork with two forks and mix it with the sauce before serving.
Notes
- Serve with coleslaw and cornbread for a classic meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
