- 2 lbs (900 g) beef chuck roast
- 1 cup (240 ml) beef broth
- 1 cup (250 g) barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) salt
- 4 sandwich rolls
- Coleslaw for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together the beef broth, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
- Pour the mixture over the beef.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
- Remove the beef, shred it using two forks, and return it to the slow cooker to absorb the sauce.
- Serve on sandwich rolls topped with coleslaw, if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the beef overnight with the sauce.
- Feel free to adjust the barbecue sauce to your preference for sweetness and heat.
